A Charm Invests A Face

A CHARM invests a face
Imperfectly beheld,
The lady dare not lift her veil
For fear it be dispelled.

But peers beyond her mesh,
And wishes, and denies,
Lest interview annul a want
That image satisfies.
Poem By - Emily Dickinson

He Touched Me So I Live To Know

HE touched me, so I live to know
That such a day, permitted so,
I groped upon his breast.
It was a boundless place to me,
And silenced, as the awful sea
Puts minor streams to rest.

And now, I ’m different from before,
As if I breathed superior air,
Or brushed a royal gown;
My feet, too, that had wandered so,
My gypsy face transfigured now
To tenderer renown.

Dreams

When I was just a little girl
I use to sit and dream.
And wish for Oh so many things,
Like being a beautiful Queen.
I’d live in a great big castle.
And sit upon a throne
I’d have servants all around me,
And wear a Golden Crown.
Or I’d be like Cinderella,
And go off to the ball,
And meet a handsome Prince Charming,
Who would show me off to all.
Then I Quickly wished I could possibly marry a Millionaire,
Who would buy me everything.
A Mansion, A shiny car,
And a great big Diamond Ring.
When I grew up I realised
My dreams could not come true.
Then One day unexpectedly
I suddenly met you.
You weren’t exactly Handsome,
You didn’t sweep me off my feet.
But you were my Prince Charming,
So thoughtful, Kind and Sweet.
And when you took me dancing
We’d really have a Ball.
And you’d call me your Cinderella,
And show me off to all.
You could never be a Millionaire,
Or buy me a big Diamond Ring.
But you gave me a little band of Gold,
And that meant everything.
Now we don’t live in a Mansion,
And my old car doesn’t gleam.
But our small home is a Castle,
And you treat me like a Queen.
They say if you wish hard enough,
Your dreams will all come true.
And mine came reality
When I fell in Love with You.
